TWO FORMATS AVAILABLE

There are two message delivery formats available for all EEAC lists. These are individual messages and digests. With individual messages, each message is forwarded to you as soon as it is received by the list processor. With digests, the list processor holds the messages as they are received until their cumulative length is at least 400 lines. It then issues a digest containing these messages. If the line length limit is not met by Midnight Eastern Time, the list processor issues a digest shortly thereafter containing all held messages. Under the digest option, you will receive one or more digests per day, unle ss no messages were posted that day.

The default setting for A-PARENT-RUSS is digest. The default setting for all other EEAC lists is individual messages. If you would prefer receiving the other format, YOU must send an administrative message, as explained below, to change this setting. You may feel free to change this setting back and forth as you desire.

Note: For those of you who have e-mail access through providers with small mailboxes, we recommend that you either check your mailbox frequently or receive your messages in digest format. Otherwise, if your mailbox becomes full, your provider will reject all additional messages (including non-EEAC messages), and you will fail to receive them.

GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ENTERING LISTSERV® COMMANDS

LISTSERV® is an automated mailing list program. It is not a person. It expects you to e nter commands following a specific syntax. LISTSERV® will not recognize any command unless you type or copy it exactly as shown! Follow these guidelines when entering commands:

  • Enter commands in the body of your message. LISTSERV® ignores anything in the Subject line.
  • Case doesn't matter. We show upper case for clarity and emphasis.
  • Enter only one command per line, and nothing else on that line.
  • You can enter commands for more than one list in the same message, as long as each command is entered on a separate line.
  • The full list name must be entered exactly as shown below, including hyphens, where appropriate.
  • There are spaces between all words, and also beween words and "*"s. Enter all spaces as shown.
  • Do not include any extraneous punctuation, like a period at the end of the command.
  • Do not include anything else in the message (other text, signatures, etc.) < /li>
