If you change your e-mail address, it is not necessary for you to signoff under your old address and subscribe under your new address to switch your EEAC list subscription(s). You can use LISTSERV®'s CHANGE procedure to take care of this action.
GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR ENTERING LISTSERV® COMMANDS
LISTSERV® is an automated mailing list program. It is not a person. It expects you to enter commands following a specific syntax. LISTSERV® will not recognize any command unless you type or copy it exactly as shown! Follow these guidelines when entering commands:
Enter commands in the body of your message. LISTSERV® ignores anything in the Subject line.
Case doesn't matter. We show upper case for clarity and emphasis.
Enter only one command per line, and nothing else on that line.
You can enter commands for more than one list in the same message, as long as each command is entered on a separate line.
The full list name must be entered exactly as shown below, including hyphens, where appropriate.
There are spaces between all words, and also between words and "*"s. Enter all spaces as shown.
Do not include any extraneous punctuation, like a period at the end of the command.
Do not include anything else in the message (other text, signatures, etc.)
If your old e-mail account is still active, you may use the CHANGE procedure yourself to switch the address on your EEAC list subscription(s). In order for this to work, you must have access to both your old and new e-mail addresses. You must send the message from your OLD e-mail address (the one currently subscribed).
Address this and all administrative commands to:
If you are subscribed to more than one EEAC list, you can change your subscription address for all lists at the same time.
If you are changing your address for multiple lists, the body of the message should contain this command:
CHANGE * newaddress
where "newaddress" is the NEW e-mail address at which you now want to receive list messages.
If you are changing your address for only one list, the body of the message should contain this command:
CHANGE listname newaddress
where "listname" is the full name of the list, as shown above, and "newaddress" is the NEW e-mail address at which you now want to receive list messages.
LISTSERV® will first send a confirmation message for each list to the OLD address. You must reply to this message from the OLD address, using the "OK" procedure as described in it, in order for the change to proceed.
LISTSERV® will then send a confirmation message for each list to the NEW address. You must reply to this message from the NEW address, using the "OK" procedure as described in it, in order for the change to be completed.
You will receive additional messages giving you further instructions and/or telling you that the actions have been processed.
IF YOUR MAIL SERVICE CHANGES YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS (EVEN SLIGHTLY)
... you will have to request that
change your account listing manually. The usual symptom of this is that you can receive messages but cannot post. Please follow the instructions above.
